What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations for optimal performance
- Fine-tune systems to ensure low latency and high availability for trading operations
- Diagnose and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime and protect trading flow
- Automate tasks using scripts and configuration management tools
- Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard infrastructure
- Collaborate with network engineers to optimize connectivity and throughput
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting
- Partner with developers, traders, and quants to integrate new technologies seamlessly
Who You Are
- 3+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator (financial services or HFT preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Proven expertise in Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Knowledge of low-latency networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NTP
- Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)
- Understanding of storage systems (SAN, NAS)
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and calm under pressure
- Integrity-driven with a collaborative mindset
